STA is LOADED at pretty much every position on the field but there is one glaring question mark heading into the 2009 season, how affective will their passing attack be? They lose senior quarterback Ryan Becker who did an excellent job of running the offense and getting the ball in the play makers’ hands. They lose some of those play makers too with the graduation of wide receivers Duron Carter and Dwayne Difton. The Raiders are odds on favorites to repeat in 5A, but an effective passing attack is imperative to keep that dangerous running game open, making another national title even more plausible. All the Raiders have to do is ask Pahokee how the lack of a consistent passing game hurt them when they traveled to Byrnes (SC) as STA does in October. Pahokee had receivers getting behind the Byrnes defense much of the night, but they couldn’t ever quite connect.
