Can South Africa Win In The Semifinal?
Based on current form, it is difficult to state emphatically that South Africa will win the semi-finals against Australia in the 2007 Cricket World Cup. This statement does not apply just to the current form, it also takes into consideration past performances in the World Cup. Too much is being said about South Africa having shed their tag of ‘chokers’ in the World Cup, especially after their win against England. England have been a rag-tag outfit during this Cup campaign, very unlike the team that won their ODI matches in Australia against Australia, and also the Chappell-Hadlee trophy. South Africa were expected to win against England, realistically speaking. And they have lost their aura of cricketing power, after the reverses in the World Cup, especially against a team like Bangladesh.
