Can someone who is under the age of 18 years of age work in a venue selling alcohol?
A minor cannot be involved in the supply of liquor, except if they are part of a training program that has been approved by the Director of Liquor Licensing. They can, however, be employed to deliver packaged liquor to a person over 18 years of age for consumption off the licensed premises, e.g. a junior staff member carrying a slab of beer out to a customer’s car. A minor cannot sell alcohol through a checkout in a licensed supermarket. This information was obtained from the Liquor Licensing Victoria website.
