Can someone very simply explain all the wars in yugoslavia?
There were various reasons why this started happening. Modern Yugoslavia was Tito’s creation. After his death, it started crumbling, inflexible to changes. Still, it was a mini EU, with many nationalities and religions living in peaceful coexistence and economic development. The political elite had other interests, with the Serb elite not capable of holding it. One more general reason was Germany. Germany needed Yugoslavia and Serbia to be destroyed. They went for it with pressuring other EU members and media demonization of Serbs, pushing one by one Yugoslav republic into war. Serbia was the holder of Yugoslavia. Serbs were the most widespread, greatest population and had the central political power as historical legacy of WW1 and WW2 contribution. But, Serbia was weakened with the two provinces, having no “inner Serbia” political structure.
