Can someone tell me the logic/philosophy about/with mormons having more than one wife?
The direct logic/philosophy behind polygamy is this “the foolishness of God is wiser than men” 1 Corinthians 1:25 or as the Book of Mormon puts it: “all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things” 2 Nephi 2:24 In essence God commanded it and that was all the mormon men and women needed to know to act upon it. But please note while these notions logically support polygamy they are not the primary cause (or in some cases the cause at all) for it in the early latter-day church. The reason for polygamy was without question that Mormon men and women believed it to be a commandment of God and wanted to follow His commandments. – Natural Logic: Among most communal mamals (those that travel in packs and herds) in nature we find males with multiple mates.
