Can someone register themselves? Is there such a thing as self registration?
Whatever visa you have it is not possible for a foreigner to register themselves on their own. The registration can be done only by the landlord (in the case of a private or tourist visa), by inviting organization, by the inviting travel agent or by a hotel. In the case of a business visa the registration can only be done by the representative of the inviting organisation or by a hotel If the guest does not stay at a hotel the registration can be done at either the Ovir of the inviting organisation or at the Ovir where the guest is staying. In the case of a tourist visa registration when the traveler is staying in private dwellings, landlord or representative from the inviting organisation will register you.
