Can someone recommend home setup or equipment for tennis practice?

I’m actually quite a fan of the garage door setup itself (as long as you don’t mind him using it, and the errant balls hitting the house now and then). This is exactly how I started playing when I was 5. I spent hours out there hitting against our garage door (one-car garage, mind you). I think that I learned how to control the ball much faster than I would have by hitting out on a court, actually. I had to be able to consistently hit the ball into the relatively small area of the garage door. The most elaborate ‘set up’ I ever had was when I decided to get out the chalk and draw lines on the driveway. The other benefits are basically the same as hitting against any other wall or a backboard. You actually have to have a quicker reaction time, because the ball comes back to you much sooner than it would when playing on a court with another person.
