Can someone please tell me what the test for sleep apnea is like in detail?
It sounds horrible, but my husband has had several and he says they aren’t bad. You arrive at the hospital in late evening. They glue leads to your chest and face and hook you to monitors. Then they tuck you into bed to sleep all night. They like for you to try to fall asleep on your own, but if you can’t after a half hour or so, they give you a sleeping pill. Then you sleep all night while machines monitor your heart rate, breathing and eye movement. You are also being filmed and someone sits in another room and watches the monitor. In the morning, they wake you up, take the monitors off and send you off to breakfast and work. You see the doctor as few days later, after they’ve had a chance to watch the tape and read the data from the monitors. If you have apnea, they will prescribe a CPAP machine. That takes some getting used to, and you will need help from your s/o to get used to it. Basically it is an almost totally silent air compressor. You won’t know it is on unless you open you
