Can Someone PLEASE Tell Carol Bartz To Get Rid Of These Infuriating Yahoo Front-Page Popups?
Last summer, Yahoo alienated me and millions of other long-time Yahoo users by launching a new front page littered with infuriating pop-up customization ads. We hoped (prayed) that these would go away of their own accord. Half a year later, however, these ads are STILL THERE. Arrive at Yahoo.com and the page momentarily looks like the nice, clean Yahoo of old. Inadvertently scroll over the wrong part of the page, however, and you will immediately be assaulted by a monstrous pop-up yelling at you to CUSTOMIZE YAHOO that obliterates the entire front page (see below). These ads DON’T GO AWAY WHEN YOU SCROLL AWAY. They stay there, yelling at you and covering the page for what seems like days. Yes, we get why Yahoo is doing this. If we actually choose to CUSTOMIZE YAHOO, Yahoo will know more about us and make more money selling ads against our eyeballs.
