Can someone please give a price comparison between douglas-fir and mahogany lumber!?
That’s a big price differential. Douglas fir is a common softwood construction lumber while mahogany is a hardwood commonly used in cabinetry and furniture making. Mahogony doesn’t grow in the US so it’s all imported and therefore quite expensive whereas Douglas Fir is common through out the western US forests and is a reasonably priced wood.
