First off, don’t read the book. It will only confuse you more. The musical is very good, but it doesn’t follow the book very well at all. I read the book before seeing the show, and then spend my entire time in the Gershwin Theatre in NYC explaining to my friends everything that was different in the show, while the people behind us kept going “SSHHHH!!!” So take my advice and don’t read the book. 🙂 The plot is very long, and I couldn’t explain it well without missing things, so I reccomend that you go here: http://leiasc.tripod.com/Wicked__the_syn… It’s even got pictures from the show to help you, and it includes the songs where they go in the plot.
