Can someone please explain what wea and wpa settings are for wireless connection to internet?
As David mentioned they are encryption methods to protect your wireless from being accessed by outsiders. If you don’t assign encryption anyone who is within the Wireless range can use your internet on their PC/laptop (if they know to look for it). The range isn’t that much, but may go past the walls of your house, & you can end up being a Wi-Fi Hotspot for your neighbours (unlikely, but plausible). Most people use WPA now & you need to assign a WPA password to your modem/router by accessing the modem/routers settings. This is usually done by accessing it via a web page on Internet Explorer or another browser. You then put the IP address of the modem/router into the address bar at the top of the page (where the www. usually goes – sorry if I sound condascending, but I know a lot of people who don’t know what this is).
