Imagine a computer as a house, and it’s IP address as it’s telephone number. If house one wants to talk to house 2 all it does is rings (Sends Data in our case) to the telephone number of house 2. That is how a network works. Mail servers and so on are just different types of houses. If you want mail you connect the the telephone number of the ‘mail’ house and so one. In addition there are eralsev types of IP Addresses (telephone numbers) these are public and private, Static and Dynamic. Everything on the internet has to have a Public IP address that is published allowing computers to see it and connect to it. Private are the ones you use in the house. Statis IP’s never change and Dynamic may change everytime you turn on your computer or connect to the internet.
