Your answers are correct, but here’s a little more info on placebo vs. control… Watching would be the placebo, and not playing would be the control. Since the hypothesis is B, watching would make those participants believe they were involved in the experiment, when really they are not taking part in the actual hypothesis. This is called the placebo effect. The placebo gives them the ability to compare those who truly played to those who thought they took part in it, helping to eliminate false and overly positive results. Not playing, yet still performing the paper folding tasks, allows the experimenters to compare the other groups to those whom have not taken part in the video games at all yet still folded the paper. This gives them something unaffected from the experiment to compare to, that’s why this is the control. I can explain any others if you’d like.
