Can someone on warfarin have a tattoo or piercing?
I’d really advise waiting and seeing your doctor before your mum considers getting a tattoo or piercing, as they are the ones who’ll know what to do for the best. It’s better to put it off for a few days than risk getting one done without knowing the full consequences of this. You also want to mention this to the tattoo studio beforehand to see if it’s something they’ll do or not, as I know that they won’t tattoo you whilst drunk (due to alcohol thinning the blood) and will tell you not to take asprins or any painkillers that thin the blood for the same reason! There’s also risk of the tattoo getting infected, leaking out the ink (due to the increase of time it’ll take to heal) and taking longer to heal than it normally would.
