Can someone live in Australia without a Visa?

0

If you want to move to Australia then Australia needs to get something out of it. We don’t need people to work a ‘normal’ job in a restaurant, Australians need jobs too. If you want to move here then you need to be a skilled worker. We’re not going to give away our jobs. You either need to get a skill behind you first or you can come over on a study visa and study but not stay. You could come on a working holiday also. You don’t need to be a citizen to live in Australia only a resident. To become a resident you need to be a skilled worker. You can become a citizen after 2 yrs residency but you need to complete a test.

I came on a business visa as a temporary resident, brought lots of money, completed the criteria to become a permanent resident then eventually became a Citizen – my husbands father was brought up in Sydney and had fought in the Australian Army but we still had to do all of this. Its what is keeping Australia GREAT – the strict immigration laws. If you have the right skills or intend to buy a business and employ locals for a minimum time then you will be able to move over – if you want a job in Macdonalds then I’m afraid it’s a no win for you!!
