Can someone help me write a thesis arguing against having an electoral college?
The founders of the constitution designed our government to maintain balance with the powers, but still give *democracy* to the people. The electoral college was created to provide the votes for our Pres and VP. The constitution does not state that we are a democratic nation. In fact the founders feared that word. They assumed that if the people of the nation, as a group, or many groups, had control of government, as democracy would be, it would be a mobocracy. They looked to repeated occurances of this in the past, especially in Ancient Greece. So they created a republic. The people vote for somebody, who then votes for the top people. That is how the electoral process was created. So, if you know all of that, try basing your thesis on America’s misconception of what our nation was build upon.
