EQUIVALENT FRACTIONS to understand equivalent fractions you first need to understand what fractions are. fractions are part of one whole. for example 1/2 means half of 1 full; 1/4 means a quarter; 3/2 means one and a half and so on…. now when dealing fractions you must know that when a fraction is written as 2/4 it means that 2 parts out of 4 in one whole, which of course means half ie 1/2. so 2/4 and 1/2 are equibalent fractions or fractions which have the same meaning. to find equivalent fractions we can multiply the number in the denominator and numerator with the same nmber. for ex. taking half again, 1/2=1*2/2*2=2/4 1/2=1*3/2*3=3/6 1/2=1*4/2*4=4/8 and so on…. FACTORS factors of a number are the numbers smaller or equal to that number which divide the given number completel like, when you have to find factors of 6, you start with 1 and go upto 6.
