Clicking on links and attachments in IM (and email etc) can compromise you. Generally speaking, if someone claims to be a hacker they are either a lier, or a kiddie scripter using other people nefarious programs (badly). Real crackers and hackers aren’t know outside of a few very small circles and are invariably connected to one or all of the following: FBI/CIA or similar, organised crime syndicates, AntiVirus companies, elite security circles. Generally they will have been programming for years, even decades and are all uniformally either of genius intelligence or high functioning autism (and thus hard wired to be ‘different’ and have an unnatural level of focus for their ‘thing’).
