Can someone give me some examples of primary and secondary sources (history)?
The Declaration of Independence is a primary source document for the American Revolution. A TV documentary about George Washington would be a secondary source. Oliver Cromwell’s letters and speeches are primary source documents for the English Civil War. I book had published about the English Civil War a few years ago is a secondary source. The Colosseum in Rome is a primary source for the 1st century AD Roman Empire. The book ‘Vespasian’ by Barbara Levick (published 1999) is a secondary source for the Roman empire in the 1st century AD.
