They will have greater need for tech support if the company just mails an installation kit to customers compared to a broadband company that sends out a technician to do the installation. So the cost of paying an employee to drive a company van has saved money but also needs to have a larger technical support staff. The might have technical staff cover the phone lines until 8 to 9pm to cover customers home from work calling the company for support. This makes the tech staff start a lot later in the day. They might have a skeleton crew covering phone lines early in the morning. And what about covering Saturdays from like 8 to 5. There is a the cost of a manager needing to open up the office in the early morning and another manager to close up the office at night.
