Can someone give me an example of the theme “friendship” in the book UGLIES by Scott Westerfeld?
The major friendship underlying in the book (series) is the one between Tally and Shay. They become close friends at the start because they are both lonely but their ideas of become fullfilled are compelety different from the start, all tally wants is to became a pretty whereas shay wants the opposite, she doesn’t want that and wants to run away. So when shay runs away, tally is order by the evil dr.cable to get shay back or else she can’t turn pretty, so tally sets out, putting her desires over the their friendship bond. this can be related to any friendships. Tally and David, the fact that tally can only see beauty on the outside whereas david can see beauty on both the inside and outside.
