Can someone give me a list of old books Disney turned into movies?
Beauty and the Beast was made into a disney movie, but if your going to read that I would recommend reading Robin McKinley’s versions of it which are Beauty (which is aimed for lower reading levels) and Rose Daughter, which is my favorite, though both are great. Robin McKinley also has a re-telling of Sleeping Beauty called Spindles End and a re-telling of Robin Hood called the Outlaws of Sherwood, which are both excellent reads as well. The Sword in the Stone is based off of Arthurian Legends, which you could probably find a book of. Aladin is based of a story as well, but that story is either called Aladin and the magic lamp, or Ali Baba and the 40 theives. Tom and Huck is based off of the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Hercules is based off of Roman Legends. Pocahontas and expecially Pocahontas two are based off of the true story of Pocahontas, which you can find Biography’s about her life which are pretty interesting.
