Can someone give a short description of who and what Kissin Kate Barlow did?
I grabbed this from http://wbaxter1.tripod.com/id70.html According to the Popular Novel and Disney Movie, Kate Barlow worked as a School Marm (Teacher) in the Turn of the Century Resort Town known as Camp Green Lake. There she fell in love with a Black Farmer named Sam, whom she hired to make repairs on the school house. One stormy night, Kate and Sam shared a kiss together, unaware that a man outside the window, the son of the richest man in town, spotted them in the act. This man was earlier spurned by Kate Barlow. It was illegal for a black man to kiss a white woman in Camp Green Lake. Soon, rioters set fire to the school house, and the town sheriff chased Sam out on the lake and gunned him down in cold blood. Kate watched it happened and suffered an emotional breakdown. Later Kate walked into the Sheriff’s office and shot him, and then she began a violent crime spree of murder and robbery. From then on, she was know as Kissing Kate Barlow.
