Can someone explain why – apart from sociopathic paedophiles – men find children sexually attractive?
From a biological perspective, there’s an advantage to mating with a virgin. It means that the child they’ll be carrying will be yours, and not somebody else’s. This is a cold and clinical way to look at it, and it speaks to subconscious motivations of what we find sexually attractive. External signals of youth are often considered attractive: clear skin, brightly colored lips, flushed cheeks, thick hair, etc. The children in this case ran as old as 17. From a biological perspective, these are optimal mates: they have all the signs of youth (and its corresponding virginity) and also the signs of fertility. Although these are considered children in any modern society, the human brain can still identify these ages as fertile and capable of bearing children.
