Can someone explain this, drinking makes me feel fearless and drugs make me paranoid?
While there is a bunch of complex chemistry behind both of the drugs (THC and ethanol) I think this can be best described by what’s happening from a psychological viewpoint. Alcohol provides a general feeling of well being and mild euphoria. The way it alters your mood and perception it can give you the impression that whatever you are doing is more situational appropriate. This makes you more prone to take risk that you normally wouldn’t when not intoxicated simply because you feel more comfortable with your situation than you normally do. It’s a good way to numb things. Marijuana’s effects are far more numerous and complex by comparison. It’s like a depressant, a stimulant, and a psychedelic all in one experience. That being said I don’t think the paranoia and anxiety are cause by any single effect but by a combination of them along with common thought patterns. I think the cause of most of the paranoia stems from the fact that the feeling of being high feels so unfamiliar which can
