Can someone explain the difference between Subjunctive and Indicative (Spanish)?
Hi, Indicative in Spanish is pretty much like the indicative in English: It makes a direct statement of fact. The subjunctive in Spanish is used for various other kinds of statements, expressing doubt, supposition, desire, and so on. Examples: Quiero que él me venda el carro. “Venda” the subjunctive of vender is used because it’s a wish rather that a direct statement of fact. Es posible que no puedan venir. “Puedan” is subjunctive because it expresses doubt. Things can definitely get harder to decipher than these, but these are some basics. Hope this helps a little.
