Can someone explain about (num-lock) on my computer keypad?

When the Num Lock light on your keyboard is on, NumLock is active. When it is active, the keypad is for numbers. When it is inactive, the 1 key has the same function as the End key, 2 is the down arrow, etc. The only exception is the 5 key.
