CAN SOMEONE BEAT A POLYGRAPH TEST?
The polygraph instrument records psycho-physiological changes or reactions occurring within the examinees Autonomic Nervous System as the examinee answers the polygraph test questions with a yes or no answer. The Autonomic Nervous System functions automatically, involuntarily, and without the examinees conscious control. For example, your heart and lungs continue to function even when youre asleep. You dont have think about doing this and you have no control over it. Therefore, any attempts to change or alter these psycho-physiological changes or reactions through the use of countermeasures (in an attempt to manipulate or alter the polygraph test results) can be detected by countermeasure components used by a well trained and experienced polygraph examiner.
