The Act introduces measures for even greater use of Fixed Penalty Notices, both for littering and fly tipping: • Litter: In addition to local authority employees, the police now also have the power to issue Fixed Penalty Notices for littering. This will increase the likelihood of litterers being penalised, especially out with local authority working hours. The fine is up to a maximum of 200 • Fly-tipping: Because there is such a strong overlap with littering, Fixed Penalty Notices can now be issued for fly-tipping offences too.
