Can someone be demoted from manger to assistant manager whilst being off on sick?
If you have been ringing in sick yourself and provided sick notes then any demotion would not be able to have any link to your illness. Whilst you are away the boss may have to place someone temporarily in your position to do your job. Under those circumstances the assistant manager may have to be in your job for a while. If you were having problems with your work before you left there may be issues that will cause your demotion on your return – if there were not any issues and you can prove that you were doing a fantastic job not only would there be no legal way that you can be demoted but also your boss would not want to lose you – so stop worrying unless you have a reason to worry.
