Can someone advise on a realistic savings plan for a Hermes bag?
Some GREAT savings ideas here! One thing, though, that hasn’t been mentioned is that most of us believe that one must be on solid financial ground before saving for a luxury item such as Hermes. That means that we have no credit card debt, if we don’t own a house/apt, we are already saving for that and making substantial progress, if we do own property, we have a slush fund for its maintenance and upkeep. We also make sure we have a car maintenance fund if we own one. In other words, Hermes comes WAY behind all of those things unless we already have them or someone is providing them for us. One thing I have learned in my two years of owning Hermes is that I must be careful that the bags fit my lifestyle. Don’t get me wrong – I ADORE my two Kellys and will most likely not part with them until they cart me off to the nursing home, but I could have easily done with just a Picotin – WAY less money and probably more appropriate for my day-to-day life which consists of going to the grocery a
