• Description: If you live in Utah and find yourself itching for an opportunity to do your bit for the environment, get set, for a golden opportunity lies just around the corner. The Utah Department of Wildlife Resources and the Stonefly Society, otherwise known as the Salt Lake Chapter of Trout Unlimited, are looking for volunteers to help on a Colorado River cutthroat trout restoration project. On July 15 and 16, the DWR will attempt to remove brown trout from Timber Canyon, a small tributary to the Strawberry River, and plonk them down in the Strawberry River or, possibly, Starvation Reservoir. Not content to stop there, they are also trying to obtain 100 or 150 pure strain Colorado River cutthroat trout to add to the broodstock of a nearby lake. This is a very cool project and one that will help the DWR move ahead on their restoration efforts. In any event it is a lot of fun to walk around with the electro shockers on your back and catch a few fish. Anyone interested contact Dave S
