Can somebody explain the Architects Speech in the Matrix?
The Architect is attempting to persuade Neo to permit the continuance of the Matrix by effecting what is essentially a reboot of the system. A reboot would allow the program to begin once again (maybe, IF the truth is being told). Like Windows, the Architect is hoping to lull Neo into a vicious circle of infinite failed attempts to FIX the same error over and over again with the exact same strategy with the exact same results, “The Blue Screen of Death”. Neo refuses to buy into the Microsoft Corporate screenplay and determines to use the method he learned by Googling “error code (*#^%*&)”. The new plan MAY not work, but he KNOWS the Windows plan won’t work. Put simply, Neo has decided to ignore convention and go with his gut!
Computers designed the architect to design the Matrix. He in turn designed the Oracle program to control the spiritual dimension of human free will, or choice, needed to agree to be in the Matrix, however unconscious that agreement was. Only 1% unconsciously, or spiritually, didn’t agree, an anomaly, and were able to get out of the Matrix and form Zion. Neo is the reboot code representing the Matrix’s control of the 1% that the Matrix is trying to destroy because Zion has gotten too powerful for the Matrix. Since he is free of the Matrix, he has to decide to reboot the program or go back to Zion to save Trinity. If he doesn’t reboot the Matrix, it will be destroyed killing all the humans, including Zion. If Neo reboots the Matrix, it will kill Zion, but he will then pick 23 people in the Matrix to reform Zion for a place for the other 1% of humans to go to.
