A telemarketer is a “telephone” marketer (or salesperson). You will probably be responsible for making outbound “cold” calls to people that have booked events at the hotel in the past and offering them incentives to have another event there. You may also make “warm” calls to people that have put in requests for information or proposals to have parties, events or multiple guests staying at the hotel. In the US telemarketers can be paid by the hour with a bonus for sales made. Sometimes though they pay commission only, so it’s your responsibility to make those deals and get customers into the hotel and you’re paid a commission on what was spent by the people for rooms, catering, entertainment, ballrooms, etc. So for instance, a young couple wants to use the hotel for their wedding reception.
