Have never played whist but in bridge you can play in five suits. I.e the four nornal suits but you can also call to play in ‘no trumps’. This is a very popular call for very average players as three no trumps gives you a game call. sorry confusing! You need 100 points for a game Spades and Hearts are worth 30 points for each bid so 1 heart is worth 30 points. Diamonds and clubs are only worth 20 points for each bid. The huge advantage of no trumps is that you get 40 points for the first game trick made and 30 for each other so three no trumps i,e 9 tricks made gains you 100 points made and game made. Sorry to totally confuse you ask me another and I will start through the basics of bridge again from the start. David [Greywood] my own convention Grey!!
