Can snakes change their mind about shedding?
There is no “theory” about it. Shedding is a natural process that if the snake is being fed properly should happen every 4-6 weeks like clockwork,OR can also be triggered by offering and the animal accepting a larger than normal prey item. And yes one of the first stages is the skin and eyes starting to cloud up and after about 3 days of that then they will clear back up and that also takes about another 3 days, and then your snake will shed.( The whole process takes about 8-10 days) If you are keeping proper humidity then it will all come off in one piece. If your humidity is too low then it will come off in patches, in which case you should soak your animal for 20-30 minutes and the rest should come off without a problem. Snake under 2 yrs old should be offered 1-2 prey items every 7-10 days minimum. If you bought at a pet store and they said you could only feed it once a month, they misinformed you. Yes it will survive for a while, but if it looks skinny, it is because it is not eat
