A16. Yes, but read on. The VEAP Business Intelligence Initiative is targeted to capture efficiencies across the Commonwealth that can come from transitioning to a standard set of BI tools (e.g., lower overall cost for BI from a Commonwealth perspective; the provision of BI capabilities to those agencies needing, but either not having or having insufficient capabilities; efficient use of BI capabilities; training economies, etc.). There are a number of different BI tools in use among executive branch agencies, and VEAP understands that a transition to a new tool will introduce change and must be done prudently to avoid disrupting current agency operations. VEAP envisions that agencies that are renewing their BI tool maintenance contracts will consider the VEAP BI offerings to determine if these offerings would provide a more effective or efficient means to meet agency BI needs. The timing for what VEAP envisions in this area is to be determined.
