Britain has changed in innumeral ways since the 1900’s. The traditional ruling classes who were at least proud to be British have really lost the power to rule effectively due to their replacement by money hungry, profit only ,get rich at all cost elite. They also lost the trust of those that they had led and controlled by the wasteful life lost in the first world war.( Haig was a scapegoat as he was a cavlary officer and was advised by an artillery officer called Rawlinson who should really be known as a butcher). After the Second World war education of the masses helped break down the traditional links between the classes and members of the Empire.also the welfare state removed the need for people to be industrious. history revisionists claiming that we should be sorry for our past also helped destroy any sense of pride.Life expectancy has increased greatly but at the cost of loss of national image ( after all national pride is NOT just football thuggery ) , also we have gone from a
