Can silicone lubricant be used as a mold release agent for casting a rubber mold?

It appears that silicon rubber lubricant can be used to cast a rubber mold but it’s best to seal the model surface with a product such as SuperSeal. Universal Mold Release is one such product to use. ChaCha!
