Can shrubs or plants be planted around or near the outdoor unit?
Plants and shrubs can be planted near the air conditioners outdoor unit although, you should make sure there is plenty of room around the outdoor unit. Air must be able to flow freely in and out of it. If there is not significant room for air circulation, the outdoor unit can overheat and sustain major damage. It is also a good idea to keep all plants, shrubs and limbs trimmed back because they can lower the performance of the air conditioner and cause damage if leaves or twigs are sucked into the outdoor unit.
