Can SCS meet the needs of my highly gifted child?
SCS meets the needs of our gifted children by providing an enrichment program. This consists of an Advanced Classroom Services program for grades Pre-K through 2nd where students are admitted by classroom teacher recommendation, as well as Enrichment Classes for students in grades 3 – 5 where students are invited if they meet specified criteria based upon standardized test scores, academic achievement, and teacher recommendation. These are all weekly pull-out programs and is very similar to the public school version of the “tag” program. In addition, SCS is involved in many enrichment events such as Spelling Bees, Speech Meets, Math Olympics, Creative Writing Festivals, and we also have an “It’s Academic” team.
