Can Saudi Arabia take the heat out of oil price bubble?
Given the strong ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Britain, based on trade, tourism and the exchange of intelligence information, Gordon Brown should find he is “pushing at an open door” when he flies to Jeddah this weekend to urge the Saudi Government to do what it can to defue the global oil crisis. However, the view of many experts, including those in the Saudi Government, is that today’s high oil price is caused more by specualtion than a lack of supply.
