Can Salamander products be used with stainless steel components?
Stainless steel is a form of steel containing a high percentage of chromium, a low percentage of carbon and often other elements such as nickel and molybdenum. Because stainless steel does not rust or stain its gaining popularity as a construction material for central heating systems, but the presence of chloride (flux) increases the susceptibility of pitting attack. It is therefore important to clean and inhibit systems of this type with Cleaner and System Inhibitor.
