Every sport played at night requires light, and basketball is no exception. Even though professional basketball is an indoor game, almost every public park in America has an outdoor court for young and old alike. Often times games on these courts run well into the night, long after dark, and sport lights are a necessity for two reasons. The first is obvious. Players need to see well enough to play the game safely, and to make their shots. The second reason is protection.
