Can rewound motors maintain the same efficiency?
There are no studies that support either position of yes or no. The largest variable being the quality of workmanship of the rewinder. Many rewinders offer services beyond the basic repair/rewind. They can increase the insulation class, epoxy treatments, better bearings, advanced testing, and etc. The biggest factor of repair versus replacement is cost. Other factors can be lead-time, application, and specialty shaft/frame.
