Can Reuter residents loft their beds?

Yes, beds in Reuter have the ability to be lofted, free of charge. Therefore residents do not have to rent a loft through the university. However, there are restrictions on loft rental. A lofted bed cannot be placed directly in front of a window. Some bedrooms have restrictions on lofts due to lowered ceilings where a lofted bed is extremely close to a sprinkler head and no lofting is allowed. In bedrooms where lofts are limited, a loft can only be placed in certain locations within the bedroom in order to avoid accidently bumping a sprinkler head which will set off the sprinkler system. Beds will come lowered upon check-in, with the availability to raise them to waist height with no additional pieces required; however it is recommend to get a metal support piece to provide additional support.
