Can retail inventory that no longer qualify for ENERGY STAR continue to display the ENERGY STAR symbol?

0

Yes, products manufactured before April 28, 2008 can display the ENERGY STAR symbol until close of business July 28, 2008. Thereafter, retailers can display, advertise and sell these products if the ENERGY STAR symbol is removed. Where the ENERGY STAR symbol appears on the EnerGuide label, retailers must remove the entire ENERGY STAR section or replace the EnerGuide label with another label supplied by the manufacturer. An EnerGuide label, by law, must be affixed to the product until its first retail sale.
