Can Rapid Reading Courses Improve My Study Habits?

When I was surfing the internet recently I noticed that a rapid reading company presenting a courses on successful reading right here in Toronto. The idea of reading something in 20 minutes that used to take you a full hour to read, with the same level of understanding and remembering what you read can be very enticing. Two questions come to mind: • Can the average reader, who now reads at approximately one minute per page (250 to 350 words a minute), expect to be able to achieve this new speed once they learn the technique? • If you achieve this speed after one full day session (as they propose), how will you maintain that new found reading speed? Not everyone can be successful at this. You cannot retain that speed over any length of time unless you can radically change your reading habits and find some way to avoid slipping back into your old method of reading. It is likely impossible to learn how to master rapid reading in a one day session. You must learn how to learn how. Readers
