Can puffer fish live in fresh water?
Puffers are either brackish water or marine. Brackish water species can survive in fresh water ONLY FOR A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. If you see them being kept in fresh water you will first notice that they develop fungal infections and then eventualy die from fungus and or bio-chemical imbalances.
Yes, there are certain apecies that live can live in freshwater. There are also some that can live in both brackish water and freshwater. These fish will usually prefer to live in either freshwater or brackish water. I have included the puffer fish that can live only in freshwater and the ones that prefer to live in freshwater.
